David and I have been working on the yard at the home place. We waited until after the first frost.  That way, all that has been biting us are the thorns from the trees and the stickers from the rose bushes.  That has been sufficient.  David must have got some poison from one of the thorns and his knee swelled up and he limped for two days.

The first two visits we concentrated on the front yard.  Last week we made it all around the house.  I'm not saying that the path around is wide but we felt it was a huge achievement. 

As you can see in the first picture, the garage has fallen in so it will need to be removed. David used some of the wood to make a sign.

My Aunt Lillie gives my Dad a calendar each year with relatives' birthdays written in the squares.  My Dad kindly made me a copy.  I saw Lillie's name on Sept. 29.  I mailed Aunt Lillie a birthday greeting only to find out it was my Cousin Lillie's birthday instead.  So, again, if you see any corrections to be made, let me know.  And, please send your family's birthdays to add to the list.

Have I really figured this blog-thing out?

I've been reading blogs for some time but didn't know how to start one of my own.  My goal was to have this one up and running by my Grandma Stanton's birthday, Sept. 24 - two days away.  When I push the button "publish" will it really take it to cyberspace? Here goes...
